THE GRID OF RIFTS AND VORTICES

A Pataphysical Atlas of Chronon Geography

Extracted and re-composed from the Myathe Magick System by Myathe

A Note Before the Map

‘Pataphysics, as Alfred Jarry defined it, is the science of imaginary solutions, which symbolically attributes the properties of objects, described by their virtuality, to their lineaments. It is the science of the particular, not the general --- the exception, not the rule; the science that begins precisely where physics runs out of instruments but the phenomenon keeps happening anyway. This is the correct discipline for a planetary grid. No seismograph has ever flagged an icosahedron. No survey team has ever filed a report on a riftline. And yet dowsers, songline-keepers, obelisk-builders, cathedral-masons, bullroarer-spinners, and touring violinists carrying handmade bipyramids have been finding the same handful of places on Earth, independently, for at least sixty-five thousand years, and doing recognizably the same thing when they get there.

‘Pataphysics does not ask whether the grid is real in the sense that a tectonic plate is real. It asks whether the grid is an accurate imaginary solution --- whether it predicts, better than the alternatives on offer, where the practitioners will keep showing up. On that test, the grid passes. This atlas is built on the wager that an imaginary geometry, held with full seriousness and zero apology, is the most honest cartography currently available for a phenomenon that keeps leaving evidence and no equipment.

What follows is drawn entirely from the cosmological, mythological, and technological layers of the Myathe Magick System, re-cut and re-sequenced around a single subject: the Earth’s own geometry of flow --- its wound, its scars, its vortices, its riftlines, and the long unbroken record of cultures that have found ways to stand at the crack and listen. The psychological and initiatory material of the source system --- the Crystal Path, the Ego-Mass, the architecture of the individual psyche --- has been set aside except where it is itself a riftline phenomenon, inseparable from the geography. What remains is a book about the shape of the planet’s imagination, and the chronon tide that moves through it.

Two organizing ideas run under everything here and are worth stating plainly before the map begins.

The chronon is the system’s unit of temporal/probability flow --- the discrete quantum of “when” and “what’s possible next,” the thing a riftline is a channel for. It is offered pataphysically: not proven, but operationally accurate, describing what practitioners across unconnected traditions report and predicting where they will report it.

The Novelty Wave is the chronon field’s civilizational pulse --- a roughly 29.5-year Saturn-driven tide of creative crest and closed-system trough that this atlas’ final books will chart in relation to the grid’s geography. The grid is where the wave crosses into the ground. The wave is what moves through the grid over time. Neither is separable from the other, and this book treats them as one subject seen at two different clock speeds.
